War Child

Vulnerable children are sometimes recruited and used by armed forces or armed groups and forced to commit heinous acts.  War Child Canada was founded to foster the capacity of people within communities to find long-term solutions to the problems caused by conflict.  The organization has advocated for children and families in war-torn areas around the world.  “People are good at reacting to emergency situations.  But, there’s a tendency to move onto the ‘next big crisis’ when issues are less immediate,” stated Dr. Samatha Nutt, founder of War Child Canada and War Child USA.
